Carroll’s Irish Bitters
What is the definition of “handcrafted and small batch”? We hand select the ingredients being used. Every batch is mixed together by hand, sometimes from the ground up, cut, peeled and barreled with precisely measured herbs, spices, fruits, barks, roots, vegetables, nuts, botanicals, and yes, even peppers. And because they are “small batch”, there is a limited quantity of bottles produced in each batch.
We utilize only the best quality, locally sourced, organic when possible, natural ingredients, including hand-picked dried herbs, spices and botanicals, nuts, seasonal fresh fruits, vegetables, and peppers out of the garden. Depending on where our ingredients were hand-picked, every batch of Carroll’s Irish Bitters might be slightly different than the previous batch. For this reason, it’s best to collect every batch and compare.
For quality control and tracking purposes, each bottle is individually hand scribed with the bottle and batch number as well as the alcohol content at time of bottling. In fact, we even go the extra mile and put the labels on by hand. So sometimes, they might look a little skewed, just consider that proof that we might have been up a little late. When the process is complete, we are proud to say that our Bitters are 100% natural. No artificial coloring! No artificial ingredients! No artificial preservatives! And absolutely no artificial extracts.
We want everyone to have a unique flavor experience. So our goal is to produce as many creative flavor “enhancements” as possible for your taste-buds to appreciate. Bitters are not a single flavor. Bitters should always be a multi-dimensional, complex blend of not only flavors but aromas that will add layers and depth to your cocktails, culinary dishes and baking needs. Our Bitters will greatly affect and bring out the balance of the five basic tastes; Sweet, Sour, Salt, Umami (savory) & Bitter.
